He was the first physician in Michigan to perform image-guided functional endoscopic sinus surgery, balloon sinuplasty, and eustachian tube dilation. Dr. Lomeo was born and raised in Pittsburgh. He received a bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and economics from Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, Pennsylvania, where he was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Delta Epsilon economics honor society.
He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, West Virginia, and then completed a rotating internship at Metropolitan Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dr. Lomeo continued his training with a one-year general surgery residency at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital (now called Western Reserve Hospital) in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, then returned to Metropolitan Hospital for his otolaryngology residency.
