Susan Barnard, MA-CCC-A
Susan is a licensed audiologist and is certified in audiology by the American Speech, Language, Hearing Association. She attended Western Michigan University where she received her Bachelors of Art degree and her Master of Art in audiology with honors. She is a West Michigan native originally from Kalamazoo, and after graduating from WMU, she moved to the Muskegon area where she lives with her husband and grown children. She has a considerable amount of hearing aid experience and keeps up with the ever-changing technology with seminars and training. She is able to relate to difficulties encountered by the hearing impaired and their families as she has several family members with hearing loss.
Valerie Brickner, Aud CCC-A
Dr. Valerie Brickner has been an audiologist for over 11 years and has experience in several different audiology settings. She has worked with Ear, Nose, and Throat specialists in the past and also private practice, manufacturing, and the Veteran’s Administration.
She is a native to Michigan and grew up in a small town near Mt. Pleasant. She first became interested in hearing impairment because of her father. He has had a hearing loss for most of his life. Growing up around him and seeing his struggles with hearing loss has given Valerie a special love for her profession. She strives to treat every patient as she would want someone to treat her father.
She earned her degree at Central Michigan University. For her final year of graduate school, she did an internship in San Antonio, TX. Following graduation, she decided to stay in Texas in the Austin area for a few more years. Valerie then decided to move back to Michigan to be closer to her family again. She proudly served our nations veterans at the Veteran’s Administration for 4 years before decided to work back in the private sector.
